Indiana Pacers forward Ron Artest has been suspended for two games without pay after committing a flagrant foul-penalty (1) against Boston Celtics guard Paul Pierce with 11:55 remaining in the first period of the Pacers' 102-72 victory over the Celtics on March 19, it was announced today by Stu Jackson, NBA Senior Vice President Basketball Operations.
Artest's two game suspension was automatic as a result of having previously accumulated seven flagrant foul-penalty points for the season. He now has eight flagrant foul-penalty points.
Artest will begin his two game suspension tomorrow night when the Pacers host the Memphis Grizzlies. He also will miss a game in Atlanta Saturday night.
