Fieldhouse Upgrades Show Commitment to Fans
August 16, 2012
The game experience at Bankers Life Fieldhouse just improved dramatically.
Picture yourself at a Pacers game, with an incredible IMAX screen in view and high quality, concert-level sound. That picture will soon become a reality this upcoming Pacers season thanks to major upgrades around the Fieldhouse.
A new 1080p high definition video board will be installed that stretches nearly foul-line to foul-line. It's the Pacers version of the Dallas Cowboys gigantic video board. Game action, replays and introductions will all be crystal clear for every fan in attendance to marvel over.
Understandably so, the video board will get all the attention, but a state-of-the-art sound system was the most necessary piece of the improvements. Sound has never been great at Bankers Life Fieldhouse and so bringing in an entire new system demonstrates the franchise's commitment to the fans.
Throughout the concourses, 330 high-definition televisions will replace the old screens. So while in line for food or another beverage, fans can watch a crisp picture of the game and not miss any action.
Remember those stat screens, high above both ends of the court? Those will both be replaced with a 25' by 14' 1080p HD screen so you'll get video, replays, and highlights in addition to player statistics.
Pacers fans should expect a visual experience that you're not going to believe, according to Chief Operation Officer Rick Fuson. He also noted that the Fieldhouse is widely regarded around the world as the best building of its kind and these upgrades take it to a whole new level.
Visiting teams on a regular basis comment on how this is one of their favorite buildings to play in. When new arenas are built around the league, they take a hard look at the 13 year-old Bankers Life Fieldhouse. In fact, some are near duplicates—like Memphis' FedEx Forum and the new Barclays Center in New York.
This move is part of the ongoing mission of professional teams everywhere to keep fans coming to games instead of watching in high-definition in the comfort of their own homes.
There's no doubt now the Pacers will have the best scoreboard in the NBA and it will first be on display November 3rd at the home opener against Sacramento.
There already wasn't a bad seat in Bankers Life Fieldhouse. Now, there's no better seat anywhere.
