The Indiana Pacers Foundation Charity Golf Tournament, sponsored this year by Katz, Sapper & Miller, was held on Sept. 27 on one of central Indiana’s most famous tracks—the Brickyard at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Over 140 golfers came together for the annual golf classic to raise money for the Pacers Foundation, an organization set up to help children in need. Whether its contributions to groups that serve youth at-risk; scholarships to deserving students; free tickets to Pacers & Fever games; or a partnership with nonprofits, the Pacers Foundation has always been about helping Central Indiana youth.

Since its inception the Pacers Foundation has given away more than $5.5 million in cash and tickets to the youth of central Indiana. And the Golf Classic, combined with an auction on site, is one of the major fund raisers.

The Pacers organization was well represented at the golf tournament. Pacers President Jim Morris and Pacers CFO & Tournament chair Kevin Bower were on hand in addition to Pacers Basketball president Donnie Walsh and GM Kevin Pritchard. Head coach Frank Vogel and all his assistant coaches were on hand as Vogel spent the day driving around the course playing a shot or two with each group.
