Pacers at BMW Championship Media Day

Coach Vogel and Jeff Foster present Pacers jersey to 2011 winner Justin Rose

June 6, 2012

Crooked Stick Golf Club in Carmel, Indiana will be hosting the BMW Championship from September 3-9, 2012 and Monday was Media Day at the course. Coach Vogel and Pacers legend Jeff Foster represented the Pacers, welcoming the upcoming tournament to Indiana.

Coach Vogel and Foster gave Justin Rose, the 2011 BMW Championship winner, a personalized Pacers jersey with the number 11 to signify his 2011 victory. A number 12 Pacers jersey, signifying this year's tournament, was given to Frank Morley, the Western Golf Association Director and WGA Tournament Chairman.

Also at the Media Day Event were Governor Mitch Daniels and Carmel Mayor Jim Brainard.

"We're a sports capital now," said Governor Daniels, "and nothing like a winning team (the Pacers) to tell the nation about that."

"It's awesome," Coach Vogel said of the BMW Championship coming to the Indianapolis area. "Crooked Stick is a staple of our community in Indianapolis, particularly in Carmel. It's neat to get some national attention, have the PGA Tour come to town, and it's fun to be a part of it."

The BMW Championship is the third leg of the FedEx Cup where the world's top 70 golf pros play four rounds with no cut.
