The Fort Report: Mad Ants Top the Jam

The Mad Ants played three games in five days this past week, going 1-2 over the stretch as their record remained a strong 4-3. That puts them in third place of the Central Division, trailing the Sioux Falls Sky Force (4-2) and the Iowa Energy (4-1).

On Wednesday, Fort Wayne headed to Ohio for a showdown with the Canton Charge, the affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Charge came out on top 107-87, but the Mad Ants had solid performances by Rakeem Christmas (13 points, 6 rebounds), C.J. Fair (19 points), and Terran Petteway (10 points).

The Mad Ants returned home to the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum on Friday for a game against the Bakersfield Jam, the former team of Mad Ants general manager Brian Levy. The Mad Ants prevailed, 113-108. It was another strong performance for Christmas, who scored a team-high 18 points. Christmas has averaged 17.9 points per game as a member of the Mad Ants.

To wrap up their stretch of three games, the Mad Ants squared off against the Erie Bayhawks (Orland Magic affiliate). The Bayhawks ended up topping the Mad Ants 90-85 in a close game at Fort Wayne.

Now the Mad Ants look ahead to a Wednesday morning matchup against the Westchester Knicks, as Fort Wayne looks to keep pace with the likes of Sioux Falls and Iowa in the Central Division.
