As part of the Pacers Read to Achieve Program, presented by Chase, the Indiana Pacers All-Star Reading Team will visit your elementary school to encourage your students to embrace the value of reading and to develop a life-long love of it!
A. Guest Readers
Members of the Pacers All-Star Reading Team will visit your elementary school and read to a select group of students (maximum of 120).
*Please note, that due to the team’s game, practice and travel schedule, members of the Indiana Pacers team are not available to attend.
B. Participants
A maximum of 120 students, ranging from Kindergarten-3rd grade only, are eligible to participate. Participants can be a mixture of these three grades or all one grade; however, we can not exceed 120 students.
C. Additional Activities
All participating students will be eligible for the Pacers raffle, where they have the opportunity to win Pacers items including tshirts, backpacks, autographed items and more!
In addition, all participating students will receive a Pacers Reading Kit filled with reading incentives and even a special Pacers book!
D. Requirements
The Indiana Pacers will provide all items for the reading timeout including books, prizes, reading kits, etc.
The school is asked to provide a location for the event (gym, cafeteria or library works best) and chairs for the guest readers. All Reading Time-Outs are one-hour in length.
E. Cost
This event is free to your school!
If you are interested in participating in this year’s Reading Time-Out, complete the Official Weekly Reading Time-Out Request Form and return to the Pacers offices.
Request forms should be received in the Pacers offices by Friday, September 19, 2008. All requests will be filled on a first come, first serve basis and may only be completed by a school administrator (Principal, Teacher, Counselor, etc.).
