The ups and downs common in a long NBA season can also be found in the Samsung Summer League.

One day after a 28-point victory in their summer opener, the Denver Nuggets found things more difficult Sunday against the Chicago Bulls.

Quincy Miller scored 26 points and Erick Green added 16, but the Nuggets fell to the Chicago Bulls 103-76 at Cox Pavilion on the UNLV campus in Las Vegas.

Led by first-round draft pick Doug McDermott, the Bulls made 19 3-pointers. McDermott led all scorers with 31 points.

The Nuggets trailed by 10 points at halftime and could never make a sustained run in the second half.

Denver rookie Gary Harris had a tough time following up his 33-point performance from Saturday. He went 7-for-7 from the free-throw line but struggled with his shot (1-for-12) and finished with nine points.

The Nuggets have a break in their schedule Monday before wrapping up preliminary play Tuesday against the Utah Jazz. After Tuesday, all teams will be seeded for a single-elimination tournament.
