Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson did not play Friday night against the Brooklyn Nets due to a plantar fascia tear in his right heel.
Lawson, who leads Denver in scoring and assists, initially suffered the injury on March 19 at Oklahoma City. He sat out three games before playing 20 minutes Wednesday at San Antonio.
The tear occurred in Oklahoma City, and did not increase in severity when Lawson played against the Spurs.
It’s a small sample size, but the radar gun tells the story.
With point guard Ty Lawson out of the lineup, the Nuggets lose some speed off their fastball.
In 69 games with their fleet-footed floor leader, the Nuggets are averaging 106.1 points per game. In the four games that he has missed, the average drops to 95.5.
