Nicholas Owens

Nicholas is an inspiration to all who meet him. He is a long-time family member of the Denver Nuggets. In 1990 he was named an ambassador child for Children’s Hospital Colorado and soon began his relationship with the Denver Nuggets at various fund raising events and special appearances. In 1998 he was officially hired as a locker room attendant to care for the players and coaches.

Nicholas was born with spina bifida, a birth defect resulting in damage to the nerves in the spinal cord leading to paralysis and sensory loss. He is a native of Colorado. He attended Alameda High School in Lakewood, Colorado and went on to Metropolitan State College of Denver, graduating in 2010 with a major in Speech Communications and a minor in Public Relations.

Nicholas believes it is a privilege to serve as a Community Ambassador for the Denver Nuggets. His message is one of faith, courage, encouragement, strength, commitment, dedication and relationship. He knows that it takes a team to win, whether it is on the court or in the home. The Nuggets have served as an inspiration for Nicholas in his life, and Nicholas’ journey has inspired the team.
