DENVER, Sept. 7 -- The Denver Nuggets have signed free agent G
Earl Watson, team General Manager Kiki Vandeweghe announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.
“Earl is one of the up-and-coming guards in this league and we’re excited to have him,” said Vandeweghe. “His addition gives us great depth in our backcourt.”
Watson, 6-1, 195, joins the Nuggets after three seasons with the Memphis Grizzlies. He averaged a career-high 7.7 ppg and 4.5 apg in 80 contests last year. The four-year veteran also played with the Seattle Sonics as a rookie and has averaged 5.7 ppg, 3.7 apg and 1.06 spg in 304 career games. He was originally drafted by the Sonics in the second round (40th overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft.
