DENVER, Oct. 1 -- The Denver Nuggets signed F/C Jelani McCoy, G Anthony Roberson, F/C Alvin Jones and F/C Brad Stricker to their training camp roster, team Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien announced today.
McCoy, 6-10, 245, has played seven NBA seasons with Seattle, L.A. Lakers, Toronto, Cleveland and Atlanta. During his most recent NBA stint, he averaged 1.5 ppg and 2.1 rpg in 10 games with Atlanta during the 2004-05 season. He currently holds career averages of 4.7 ppg and 3.6 rpg in 254 career appearances. McCoy spent part of last season with the Spanish club Menorca Basquet.
Roberson, 6-2, 180, is in his third NBA season, having made appearances with both Memphis (2005-06) and Golden State (2006-07). He averaged 5.6 ppg in 20 games with the Warriors last season and has a career scoring average of 4.1 ppg in 36 career games. Roberson also spent time with the Arkansas RimRockers of the NBA Development League the past two seasons, posting 17.1 ppg in 28 games.
Jones, 6-11, 265, appeared in 23 games with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2001-02, averaging 1.1 ppg and 1.6 rpg. He was originally drafted by Philadelphia in the second round (57th overall) of the 2001 NBA Draft.
Stricker, 6-11, 260, played in four games with the Great Falls Explorers of the CBA during the 2006-07 season, tallying 3.5 ppg and 1.3 rpg.
The Nuggets begin training camp tomorrow in Denver, Colorado, while their training camp roster now stands at 18 players.
