D-League’s Idaho Stampede to Hold Tryouts in Denver Area
Calling all rec-league All-Stars, overlooked college players and hoop dreamers.
The Idaho Stampede – the NBA Development League affiliate of the Nuggets – will hold an open tryout at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood on Sunday, Oct. 11. Tryouts will be held in the CCU Events Center (8787 W. Alamedo Avenue, Lakewood, CO 80226) and will begin promptly at 9:00 AM.
Stampede coach Bob MacKinnon said he and his staff are looking for "guys who want to play hard and want a shot to fulfill their dreams."
Players will compete to earn an invitation to the Stampede’s official Training Camp in November. After a similar tryout that MacKinnon conducted for the Colorado 14ers last year, two players earned a spot on the D-League roster.
“It’s a league of opportunity,” MacKinnon said.
Applicants must be eligible to play in the NBA Development League and may pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure, and release forms. Pre-registration cost is $150, however that fee jumps to $200 on the day of the tryouts. Payments may be made by cash, cashier’s check or credit card.
Registration forms and waivers are available at www.idahostampede.com. Any questions regarding the camp should be addressed to the Idaho Stampede Basketball Office at (208) 573-1418.
