Five Players Earn Spots in Rookie/Free Agent Camp

DENVER, June 26 -- Corey Williams, Charles Mason, Deon Williams, Rick Poole and Tyree Jones were selected from a group of more than 150 players to participate in the Denver Nuggets Rookie/Free Agent Camp, July 11-12 at the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets held an open tryout today, guaranteeing that three players would be brought to the camp. They exceeded their expectations and took five players. One player will be picked to join the Nuggets entry in the Las Vegas Summer League, July 13-16.

Corey Williams played at Alabama State after attending Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City, MO. He currently lives in Denver.

Mason has been playing overseas in Argentina, Ecuador and Uruguay after playing collegially at Bunker Hill Community College in Boston, where he currently resides.

Deon Williams, hailing from Los Angles, played his college basketball at Eastern Washington University.

Poole, 29, is currently living in Aurora, Colo. and played one year at Alabama after a stint at Otero Junior College.

Jones, just finished his senior season at Eastern Oregon and resides in Oroville, Calif., outside of Sacramento.
