Prospect Q&A: Tyus Jones

By Leonard Davis

Q: “If you could give young kids three keys to success, what would you say has brought you this far?”

A: “I would say stay true to you. Don’t allow outside influences to affect the way you play the game.

Living in the gym has to go on the list, never get complacent once you reach a certain level of success.

And last but not least stay humble.”

Q: “While playing under Coach Krzyzewski what was the biggest lesson you learned?”

A: “I took away more what it means to be a good leader both on and off the court. As far as a point

guard goes you are expected to be the leader on the court. So all around for me, I would say becoming a

better leader.”

Q: “As an elite athlete at such a young age, what keeps you focused?”

A: “I’d say my family, that’s just how I was raised. Along with that I’d have to say my love for the game.

Basketball has been my life since before I can even remember. It’s what I love to do. “

Q: “While preparing for draft day what’s your main focus going into these workouts?”

A: “My main focus going into these workouts is to show what I bring to the table. Being able to display

my jump shot abilities along with my skillset in changing pace instantly, and I’m capable of other things

too. But really I just allow my last season to speak for itself.”

Q: “After leaving Denver today what do you hope your lasting impression is?"

A: “That I am a point guard, that they love, that’s obviously an impression you want to make with every

team so hopefully I gave off that vibe.”
