Prospect Q&A: Cam Griffin

By Leonard Davis and Steven Blevins

Q: “It’s obviously a dream to play in the NBA, what is the feeling like starting that process with the Nuggets?”

A: “It feels good personally because I go to school in Denver, so to be recognized by the Denver Nuggets organization is really a blessing and an honor. It was really fun too; I got to see where I am compared to all these other players, so it was a really nice workout.”

Q: “Not necessarily knowing what to expect or what would be asked of you, how do you feel you performed today?”

A: “Overall I think I did pretty well, I played really good on defense, I got a couple steals and blocks. I could have shot the ball a lot better, but with shooting, that’s just 50/50 really. You never know how that’s going to go, but overall I think I did pretty well, showed that I was really active and have intangibles.”

Q: “Did you come in today trying to showcase your defense?”

A: “Yes sir, defense and energy. Plenty of players in the league can put the ball in the basket, and not everyone can play defense or hustle or do all the things that count to win ball games, so I wanted that to standout.”

Q: “How was it getting to do this work out with your teammate Brett Olson? Did it ease the nerves? Make it more competitive?”

A: “Yeah for sure, a lot more competitive because we went at it every day back at DU. I wanted to show him up, I wanted to show everyone up, and show everyone what I could do. It was fun, made the transition easier being here with someone I know.”

Q: “What are your plans for the rest of your summer? Any other workouts planned?”

A: “No not that I know of for now. I am going to go back home to Texas and workout and see what happens.”
