Nuggets Send Steven Hunter to Memphis

Denver receives a future second round draft pick from the Grizzlies in return

DENVER, Aug. 7, 2009 -- The Denver Nuggets have traded center/forward Steven Hunter and a protected first round pick in the 2010 NBA Draft to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for a future conditional second round pick, team Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien announced today.

Hunter spent two seasons in Denver after being acquired from Philadelphia by trade on Sept. 10, 2007. He averaged 2.1 ppg and 1.5 rpg in 19 appearances for the Nuggets in 2007-08. Hunter missed all 82 games this past season after having arthroscopic surgery on his right knee.

In 379 career games, Hunter has averaged 4.7 ppg and 3.2 rpg for Orlando, Phoenix, Philadelphia and Denver.
