Nuggets Sign Sampson
Denver is Sampson's fifth stop in the NBA


DENVER, Jul. 28 -- The Denver Nuggets have signed F/C Jamal Sampson to a contract, team Director of Player Personnel Mark Warkentien announced today. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not released.

Sampson, 6-11, 235, has averaged 2.4 ppg and 3.9 rpg in 50 career games over four seasons with Milwaukee, the Los Angeles Lakers, Charlotte and Sacramento.

Originally drafted after his freshman season at California by the Utah Jazz in the second round (47th overall) of the 2002 NBA Draft , Sampson’s draft rights were traded to the Orlando Magic and then to the Milwaukee Bucks on June 26, 2002.

Sampson signed with the Los Angeles Lakers as a free agent on July 24th, 2003. He was then selected by the expansion Charlotte Bobcats from the Lakers in the NBA Expansion Draft on June 22, 2004. Sacramento signed him as a free agent on August 10th 2005 where he played 12 games for the Kings last season.
