  • DENVER, Aug. 10, 2010 – Seeking their third straight Northwest Division title and fourth consecutive 50-win season, the Denver Nuggets will open the 2010-11 season against the Utah Jazz at Pepsi Center on Wednesday, Oct. 27.

The Nuggets will play their first road game Oct. 29 at New Orleans, followed by a back-to-back game at Houston on Oct. 30. Eight of Denver’s first 14 games will be away from home.

Led by All-Star teammates Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, the Nuggets are scheduled to appear on national television 25 times in 2010-11 (10 on ESPN, nine on TNT, five on NBATV and one on ABC). They will play in Oklahoma City as part of the NBA’s Christmas Day lineup on ESPN.

All non-exclusive games – plus three TNT games (Dec. 16, Jan. 6 and March 3) – will be carried in HD on Altitude Sports & Entertainment. A complete Altitude schedule will be released soon and can be found online at www.altitude.tv.

The four Western Conference teams that the Nuggets will play just three times are the Los Angeles Lakers, Golden State, Memphis and New Orleans. Denver went a combined 13-3 against those teams in 2009-10.

The Nuggets will face the two-time defending champion Lakers for the first time on Nov. 11 at Pepsi Center, and Los Angles returns to Denver on Jan. 21 before the teams wrap up the season series at the Staples Center on April 3.

The new-look Miami Heat, featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, make their only Denver appearance on Jan. 13. The game will be televised nationally on TNT.

The Nuggets set a franchise attendance record during the 2009-10 season, drawing 737,812 fans to Pepsi Center (17,795 per game). They also had 22 home sellouts, the most since the 1994-95 season.

“We recognize the amazing fan support for the Nuggets, especially last season where home-court advantage was definitely in effect,” said Kurt Schwartzkopf, chief marketing officer for the Nuggets. “We are excited to roll out the 2010-11 schedule to our fans, especially our season-ticket holders, who won’t have to worry about landing a ticket to the much-anticipated Miami game.”

Denver does not have a road trip longer than five games but will play seven of eight games on the road from March 3-19.
