The Denver Nuggets are taking part in the Toshiba Vegas Summer League for the third-straight year. The 2006 TVSL will be played at the COX Pavilion on the campus of UNLV from July 6-14. The Nuggets will play five games during the competition, taking on Boston, Dallas, Golden State, Houston and New Orleans/Oklahoma City.

The Nuggets kicked off the competition against Dallas on Thursday, July 6, beating the Mavericks 113-85. They then followed that up against Houston on Friday, July 7 and fell 93-90 to the Rockets. After having Saturday off, Denver resumed play on Sunday, July 9 versus New Orleans/Oklahoma City, downing the Hornets 99-80. The Nuggets took Monday off and then defeated Golden State on Tuesday, July 11, 104-88. And finally, Denver closed out the league on Wednesday, July 12 finishing off Boston 112-108.

Casey Jacobsen and Kelenna Azubuike paced the Nuggets in scoring throughout the five games, both averaging 16.4 ppg, respectively. Ricky Sanchez, one of the Nuggets' draft choices last season, led Denver in rebounding with an average of 5.3 rpg. Yakhouba Diawara was the leading minute man during the course of the TVSL, averaging 23.0 per contest. Unfortunately, no Nuggets players were named to the All-TVSL First or Second Teams despite the solid showings.
