Nuggets Stay at 11
The Denver Nuggets draw the 11th pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
Unable to beat the odds in Tuesday’s NBA Draft Lottery, the Denver Nuggets hold the No. 11 overall selection in next month’s NBA Draft.
The Nuggets entered the lottery in the 11th position and retained their spot when the combinations were drawn. Denver also held the rights to the New York’s lottery combinations, but the Knicks failed to move up from No. 12.
Nuggets coach Brian Shaw and general manager/executive vice president of basketball operations Tim Connelly were on hand as the draft order was unveiled in New York.
"Whoever we end up getting (at No. 11), I will do my best at coaching them on the floor," Shaw said.
To complete a three-team trade with the Orlando Magic and Los Angeles Lakers in 2012, the Nuggets will now send the No. 12 selection to Orlando.
Denver, which has never drafted higher than third, had a 1.5 percent chance of landing the top pick; a 1.78 percent of moving to second; and a 2.16 percent chance of jumping to third.
In 12 draft lotteries, the Nuggets have never improved their position.
The 2014 NBA Draft will be held June 26 in New York.
