Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson sidelined by fractured rib

In the midst of a difficult season, point guard Ty Lawson has been a bright spot for the Denver Nuggets. Now he, too, is on the shelf due to injury.

Lawson, who leads the team in scoring and assists, was ruled out of Monday's game against the Indiana Pacers and likely will miss the final game before the All-Star break on Wednesday with a fractured rib.

Lawson suffered the injury during the first half of Denver's game against the Detroit Pistons on Saturday and did not return.

In the four games Lawson has missed this season, the Nuggets are averaging 91.5 points, more than 12 below their average of 103.8.

With Lawson and backup Nate Robinson (knee surgery) unavailable, guards Randy Foye and Evan Fournier have been filling in at the point. Coach Brian Shaw also has the option of running the offense through forwards Wilson Chandler and Quincy Miller.
