Nuggets could get defensive help against Bobcats

Denver forward Darrell Arthur close to return

Offense hasn’t been a problem for the Denver Nuggets in January, averaging 113.6 points in 13 games this month.

Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats, the Nuggets could get help in the defensive department.

Denver forward Darrell Arthur is expected to return to the rotation after missing seven straight games with a strained hip. Arthur is one of the team’s most versatile and reliable defenders, particularly against the pick-and-roll.

“It’s been pretty tough,” Arthur said after going through shootaround. “At one point we were giving up 117 points a game. That’s not winning basketball. Luckily we’ve been making shots on the other end. We have to be more aggressive defensively, talk more, rotate better. I think it’s all going to come along.”
