Before Friday night’s game against the Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets coach Brian Shaw talked about the team’s decision to rescind the two-game suspension of veteran point guard Andre Miller.
Miller will remain away from the team for personal reasons until Jan. 6.
“The incident that took place with him the other day, everybody understands that can’t happen,” Shaw said. “We’ll go forward, starting tonight and prepare for the Memphis Grizzlies.
“I haven’t had any contact with Andre since the other night after the game; I really thought the whole situation was blown out of proportion. It was the heat of the moment and sometimes players say things to coaches or the other way around.
“Usually, what we want to happen is to have those discussions in the locker room, behind closed doors within the group. Instead it started out there on the court and brought a lot of attention.
“To me it’s really not a big deal, but like I’ve said, I have so much respect for Andre Miller. I have been a fan of his when he played for the University Of Utah. It’s just an unfortunate incident but we are moving on from it.”
