Nuggets Assign Hodge to D-League
Guard to continue rehabilitation with Colorado 14ers

DENVER, Dec. 1 -- The Denver Nuggets have assigned G Julius Hodge to their NBA Development League affiliate, the Colorado 14ers, team Vice President of Basketball Operations Mark Warkentien announced today.

“We view this as a 30-day rehabilitation assignment for Julius,” said Warkentien. “The most important thing he needs right now is to play and this assignment gives him that opportunity. In a month, we think he’ll be ready to come back and help us.”

Hodge appeared in 14 games as a rookie for the Nuggets last season, averaging 0.9 ppg. He also played in 11 games for the Austin Toros of the D-League, averaging 17.7 ppg and 5.5 rpg.

The second-year pro has been sidelined since the beginning of training camp with a left foot infection. He was cleared to resume basketball activities yesterday. Hodge has not played since being shot multiple times in his left leg in April.

Hodge is expected to be in uniform when the 14ers take on the Idaho Stampede on Sunday, Dec. 3. The 14ers are coached by former Nugget Joe Wolf and play at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colo.

“The NBA has done a fantastic job of establishing this relationship with the D-League and we’re fortunate to be able to use it to our advantage,” said Warkentien. “Joe Wolf is an excellent coach who understands Coach Karl’s philosophies and will be a great resource for Julius.”
