DENVER, Nov. 13, 2012 – Denver Nuggets forwards Kenneth Faried and Danilo Gallinari, swingman Andre Iguodala and guards Ty Lawson and Andre Miller were among the players listed on the 2013 NBA All-Star ballot unveiled today in Houston.
Faried, a member of the 2011-12 NBA All-Rookie First Team, has a current string of four consecutive double-doubles and is averaging 13.9 points and 10.8 rebounds in Denver’s first eight games. He was named Western Conference Player of the Week for Nov. 5-11.
Gallinari is Denver’s second-leading scorer, averaging 14.0 points in seven games. He also is averaging 7.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists.
Iguodala, an All-Star for the Philadelphia 76ers last season, leads the Nuggets at 15.4 points per game. He also is second on the team with 7.5 rebounds per game and third with 4.1 assists per game.
Lawson is coming off his best season as a pro. He averaged career-highs in points (16.4), assists (6.6) and rebounds (3.7) in 2011-12, and his 7.8 assists in eight games so far this season rank seventh in the NBA.
Miller, who is 10th on the NBA’s career assist list, is Denver’s floor leader off the bench. The veteran playmaker is averaging 9.4 points and 5.3 points in 26.5 minutes.
The 62nd NBA All-Star Game will be played Feb. 17 at the Toyota Center in Houston. It will air on TNT and ESPN Radio in the U.S. and reach fans in more than 220 countries and territories in more than 40 languages.
All-Star voting begins today and will run through Jan. 14. Starters will be announced live Jan. 17 during a special one-hour pregame show on TNT at 5 p.m. MST.
The NBA All-Star ballot lists 120 players – 60 each from the Eastern and Western conferences – with 24 guards and 36 frontcourt players. Voters select two guards and three frontcourt candidates from each conference. Previously, the ballot featured three positions with fans picking two guards, two forwards and a center.
