Fans Favorite Nuggets Jersey
The Denver Nuggets have a rich heritage when it comes to jersey designs. Since entering the NBA in 1976, the Nuggets have featured nine different iterations of their uniforms. From the blue, white and gold uniforms of the David Thompson era, to the iconic rainbow skylines of the 80s and early 90s, the navy, gold and maroons of Mt. Mutombo, the powder blues seen in 10 straight playoff years, and the rebirth of the skyline in 2012, the Nuggets have always had their own unique style in the NBA.
One Tuesday May 13, we asked our fans on social media what was their favorite look of all-time. The fans voices were heard and overwhelmingly chose the classic rainbow skyline uniforms worn from 1985/86 – 1992/93. This was the second edition of the rainbow skyline design, which replaced the original in the fall of 1985. The new design featured yellow and blue trim instead of the green featured on the previous version. The road uniform also became a lighter, royal blue rather than the navy of its predecessor. The 1985/86 – 1992/93 Nuggets skyline uniform was worn by such greats as Alex English, Michael Adams, Fat Lever, Dikembe Mutombo, Calvin Natt , T.R. Dunn and many more. The Nuggets gold skyline uniform, released in 2012, finished in second in social media fan voting, and is worn by the current team as a home alternate.
