by Aaron Lopez

The Denver Nuggets are riding a 13-game winning streak, the longest run of success since joining the NBA in 1976.

How does that compare to Denver’s longest-tenured major professional sports teams?
Here’s a look at the best single-season winning streaks for the Colorado Avalanche, Colorado Rockies and Denver Broncos.

13 – The Broncos opened the 1998 NFL season with 13 consecutive wins and finished 14-2. They went on to beat the Atlanta Falcons in the Super Bowl.

12 – The Avalanche won 12 games in a row from Jan. 10 to Feb. 7, 1999. They won the Northwest Division during their final season at McNichols Arena before falling to Dallas in the Western Conference finals.

11 – The Rockies won 11 straight games during a remarkable run to the playoffs in 2007. They secured the NL Wild Card spot and won seven consecutive postseason games before losing the Boston Red Sox in the World Series.
