"It was a tough and physical game and we just fell apart, we eventually cracked. They took us out of the game. When we cracked, it was a sign of immaturity. I knew it would be very difficult to score tonight. I also thought it would be very difficult for them to score tonight because we’re a good defensive team. We need to be solid mentally for the entire game. I know they are young but they have to grow up fast. A lot of it is Detroit’s defense. They’re very physical and they’re a veteran group."

MARK BLOUNT, Nuggets center

"Right now we all have to be on the same page. We shouldn’t worry about being young, we’re professionals. We have to concentrate and be mentally there. Our defense is there but we’re shooting ourselves in the foot by coming out and not being able to score points. It’s kind of funny at first but when you start piling up these Ls (losses) it’s not that funny. There should be no reason why we can’t score more than that. We have to be more disciplined and run our stuff."


PISTONS HEAD COACH RICK CARLISLE

"This was a tough game, Denver is a really sound, solid, defensive team. It was hard to get good shots and luckily for us Corliss (Williamson) got it going a little bit in the first half. In the second half we were able to get a little bit of a cushion. It was slim pickens out there to get easy shots with these two teams. We knew that we had to defend in order to give ourselves a chance because when the shots aren’t coming easy, your defense is the only thing holding you together. We finally found a couple guys with a hot hand and were able to get the win."

On Cliff Robinson:
"This guy has been an all-star and sixth man of the year, and I think that he is going to be a strong candidate for sixth man of the year again. Without him tonight we probably do not win."

On Cliff Robinson:
"Cliff came out and he did what he does. When you put a smaller guy on him, he will post him and when you put a bigger guy on him he will step out and face him. Cliff came out and had a huge night for us and that is what we expect guys to do."
