Postgame Quotes - March 21, 2003 at KeyArena in Seattle

Jeff Bzdelik
Bzdelik
"It was a heck of a ballgame. You have to tip your hat to Ray Allen. He made some big-time shots. He was 7 for 10 on threes and he kind of really stuck the dagger in our back. once again my team played with great passion, great heart and great determination. From the free throw line we once again shot a dismal 56 percent and we once again turned the ball over. Seventeen times for us is actually an improvement. Our ability to handle the basketball and shoot free throws has stopped us from getting more W's."

On Shammond Williams:
"He shot it well and he competes."

On stopping Rashard Lewis:
"We just got up and into him. In the four meetings we've had with Seattle we've defended him well except for the first half a week ago at our place when we gave up 56. But then in the second half we gave up only 36. I think if you just get up and into him it's not a big deal."

On Ray Allen: "He's an all star and he's one of the elite players in the league. When you come down the stretch in tight ballgames, we don't have a guy like that that can make plays going down the stretch."

Marcus Camby

"We played hard but we have nothing to show for it. That delay of game call was the second time that's happened to us. We're not getting any respect. It should have been a five seconds, but I don't know what Nene did."

On his performance:
"I always said if I got the time things would happen. Tonight as a unit we played well but we just came up short."

Shammond Williams

"I wanted to win, period. That's what I'm out there for. I'm not out there for a great individual performance, I'm out there to get a win. I just go out and give an all-out effort each and every game to help my team win. We took some steps but we still didn't get a win. We've just got to keep fighting. That individual satisfaction is what keeps you from being a champion. I'm glad I was bale to help my team be in the game.

Nate McMillan

"After the first few minutes of the game we got aggressive. We talked about being aggressive. We've struggled all year with teams putting pressure on the ball and just really pressuring us. In the first quarter they really jumped on us. They got up in our chest and we were challenged. We ended up getting very aggressive on the defensive end of the floor and making things happen. Finally, we were able to sneak this game."

On Ray Allen:
"It was a strange game. Rashard (Lewis) was struggling all night. Ray played the whole second half and found a way to get something going. The guy was exhausted out there and he continued to knock down shots with guys hanging all over him."

On taking care of the ball:
"At times we struggle against pressure. Teams get up into us and pressure the ball and get up into our chests and sometimes we have a problem playing and executing our offensive sets. We turned the ball over six times in the first quarter. We had about ten at the half but we settled down in the second half. We executed our offense but this is something we have struggled with. Not only during games but in the fourth quarter, being able to finish a game when teams tighten up their defense."

Vladimir Radmanovic
Radmanovic
On the game:
"This team is playing hard on both ends of the florr. We knew that this would be a tough game. Rashard (Lewis) didn't have a good night tonight and somebody had to step up. I have to mix up it up a little bit like I did tonight. I hope I can do it the next couple of games."

"I feel good about my shot. It doesn't mean anything if you miss five shots. You just have to keep shooting."

Rashard Lewis
Lewis
On his game tonight:
"They were shadowing me everywhere I went. I told Ray (Allen) in the third quarter that all I could do was play defense and he was gonna have to take over. That's what he did and we were able to win the game."

Ray Allen
Allen
On the game:
"For Rashard it was a funky game. Every time he got the ball they were swarming and I was just trying to back up off my guy and kinda go at him a little bit. The way they were playing me, I had to be aggressive offensively, whether I passed it or shot it. It felt good. I think that is the best my shot has felt since I have been here."

"Down the stretch it can be anyone on this team. I have noticed that and I told the guys in the fourth quarter that no matter what play we draw up, there is gonna be somebody there with an open shot so you have to be ready. Vlade (Radmanovich) didn't make it, but we can live with that."
