Postgame Quotes - Nov. 7 at Pepsi Center

NUGGETS HEAD COACH JEFF BZDELIK
Bzdelik
"This was a total team effort. This was a great effort by everyone, defensively and on the boards. Rodney White gave us a great lift tonight and also defended well. There is a great upside to Rodney. Donnell Harvey gave us a great game tonight also. I am asking a lot of these guys. I ask them to defend hard, run hard, and play hard. It is easy to say that we are rebuilding but they need to learn how to win. I was most impressed by guys like Juwan Howard and James Posey who did not have a great offensive game, but still played hard and gave us a good game overall."

JAMES POSEY, Nuggets guard

Posey

On his 2-13 shooting night:
"You can not let everything go down the tubes. You have to go to others to get them involved as well. I still had to rebound and defend. You have to be a value to the team when you are out there."

On Rodney White's performance:
"It is just a matter of time for him to get his confidence. He kept us in the game early, we were riding him. Tough shooting for me tonight, but it is important that we got the win. Other players, like Rodney White, Donnell Harvey, and Chris Whitney, led us."

CHRIS WHITNEY, Nuggets point guard

Whitney

"I am just going out there and trying to find the guys when they are open. He (Rodney White) was big for us tonight. There will be nights like this when others are shooting poorly, but tonight he stepped up. We were riding his coattails tonight. It is important that we get stops on defense, and at least try to get transition baskets. Rodney has so many ways of scoring, he creates a lot. He can post up because of his size. He was really aggressive tonight, and as a team we were looking for him.."

GRIZZLIES HEAD COACH SIDNEY LOWE

Lowe

"I am very disappointed. I thought they played harder than we did. I thought they played smarter than we did. They were attacking us on both ends. They were physical, they absolutely killed us on the boards. We played very selfish. We did not pass the ball. We were selfish on defense too. We are not talking, helping each other, we do not trust each other. I am discouraged because we did not play well, did not play the way we are capable of playing, we did not go after it."

PAU GASOL, Grizzlies forward

Gasol

"I do not know how to feel, I do not know how it feels to win. They played harder than we did, not better, they just played harder. We did not get into our offense, we did not execute. This is a game we needed to win. We need to work to change our mindset. We do not trust each other, we need to change so we can win."
