Jalen Rose sets Denver rookie record with 16 assists
by Aaron Lopez

As a 6-foot-8 point guard, Jalen Rose enjoyed an advantage over smaller defenders.

On March 16, 1995, he used that advantage to the fullest.

One year removed from leading Michigan’s Fab Five to the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament, Rose set an Nuggets franchise rookie record with 16 assists to lead Denver to a 123-101 rout of the Sacramento Kings.

Nineteen years later, Rose’s single-game rookie record still stands. He also holds the Nuggets rookie record with 389 assists during the 1994-95 season.
