Kelsey is proud to be in her third season as a Denver Nuggets Dancer (DND)!
This Portland, Oregon native is accustomed to showcasing her dancing feet in front of crowds of 19,000 people, but the thrill of being on center court still takes her breath away.
Kelsey has been a performer since the beginning, picking up dancing as far back as she can remember.
“I have been dancing since I was about 3 years old,” she recalled. “My first memories dancing are with my older sister; we used to put together choreography and live shows. We also had a TV show we created with lots of dance numbers included.”
Her skills are exemplified by the multiple prestigious accomplishments she has attained over the years.
“In high school in Oregon we competed in drill down, which is a series of military commands. I placed second in the state in 2008!” Kelsey excitedly remembers. “Also another favorite memory was being voted MVP by my college team my junior year. It was so special to be honored by women I had worked so closely with.”
While dance has been one of her lifelong passions, Kelsey appreciates the unique opportunities when she has been able to make a positive difference in the community.
“There are so many amazing events, it's hard to pick just one!” expressed Kelsey. “I love doing hospital visits. It means so much to be able to put a smile on someone else's face! I have so many great memories standing on the court getting ready to run out for intros after the national anthem. It's a special moment that is indescribable, and so unique to being a Nuggets Dancer in Pepsi Center.”
A hard worker both on and off the court, she graduated college with degrees in Anthropology and Economics from a West Coast Unviersity.
“I chose to go to San Diego for my college education, and after graduation I accepted a job that lead me to Denver,” said Kelsey.
Outside working for a start-up tech company, she likes to jam out to hip hop from the early 2000’s and enjoys hiking, spending time with family and friends and hanging out with her dog, Bentley.
“I also love reading, yoga, and working out. I like strengthening both body and mind,” Kelsey said.
She is not afraid of challenges, whether that is moving to a new state or dancing in front of thousands of people; she lives by the phrase, “Live with no regrets” and is always ready for what’s next to come.
