Birthday: March 18th
Years on the team: 3 years
Occupation: I am a nanny for a 4 and 6 year old. I also graduated from Washington State University in 2010 with a degree in fashion merchandising and design.
What is your favorite genre of music? Probably hip hop and r&b. But I love me some John Mayer or Bob Marley every once in awhile :)
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and who would you take with you? I'd probably go to Seoul, Korea because I was adopted from there and haven't been back since. I think I'd take my mom and dad because I know they would appreciate it just as much as I would.
Do you have any superstitions?Haha, I have so many! When I go grocery shopping I don't like to grab the first item on the shelf. I think too many people have touched it so I grab the item closest to the back. Sad, I know. Also, when I did gymnastics growing up I had the same EXACT routine every day I had a gymnastics meet. I'd wake up at 6:30am, do my hair the same exact way for every meet, eat the same thing for lunch (a McChicken), I'd only drink a red Gatorade, and I had to have a 6" turkey sub before I competed or I'd freak out (lol). There's other weird things that I won't mention because I'll sound crazy, but I've lightened up a lot as I've gotten older.
Nicknames? Buddy (my parents call me that), Princess Kaila or PK (someone in college started that but I have no idea who? probably me haha) and Squirt (that started in college as well)
One food item you could not live without? Potato chips and onion dip!!!! It's sad how fast I can go through both of these.
Favorite outdoor activity in Colorado? I go to the park almost every day with the kids I nanny and I love it because we swing for hours!!! Haha I'm a kid at heart.
Favorite holiday? Christmas for sure! We have such great family traditions at home and I love every second of it. My favorite is our Christmas Eve dinner: prime rib, crab, green goddess salad, and some amazing sweet potato rolls!
If you could have any superpower what would it be? I'd love to fly, just because my whole family is in Washington so that way I could see them any time I wanted.
Favorite Disney princess? Princess Jasmine, of course.
What would we find in your refrigerator right now? Just about every kind of juice you could think of (lemonade, apple, orange, grape, passion fruit, pineapple, pomegranate) plus milk and ginger ale. I also have a lot of Lean Cuisines because I'm always eating on the go!
If you were written about in the local newspaper, what would be the headliner? Hopefully something that had to do with dance and children within the Denver community. Maybe "How to Dance Through Life at any Age"
Favorite dance style? sassy jazz/hip hop
Favorite dance move? an areil OR a hair whip because it gets the hair out of my face (haha!)
Favorite part of being a DND? Being able to live out my dream of dancing for a professional team and sharing that with a group of women that feel the exact same way.
Tell us something the fans wouldn't know about your job as a dancer... We practice the same amount of hours as any other professional athlete! AND we learn close to 50 routines per season.
Your favorite DND sponsor? Waxing The City is one of my favorite sponsors because they're so professional and I always leave feeling better about myself. It's something so small but it makes such a huge difference!
Most memorable moment being a dancer for the NBA? My most memorable moment is going to China and performing in front of NBA China and visiting the Great Wall! It was such an unforgettable experience and it made me realize how truly blessed I am to be able to do what I love for a living.
