Anthony and Iverson Host Basketball Game
for Children of Deployed Soldiers

DENVER, Mar. 28 -- Denver Nuggets captains Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson hosted a special basketball game for some very lucky boys and girls from Ft. Carson in Colorado Springs, Colo. on Mar. 28th at the Auraria Events Center on the campus of Metro State College of Denver.

In conjunction with the Ft. Carson Housing Department, the Denver Nuggets hosted the game for children of service men and women who are currently deployed in Iraq. Twenty-five players, ages 12 years old and under, participated in the game and had the opportunity to be coached by either Anthony or Iverson. With Anthony and Iverson serving as coaches for the two teams, along with Nuggets assistant coaches Steve Hess and Jamahl Mosley, all the players were outfitted in Nuggets replica jerseys and played in front nearly 1000 Ft. Carson residents who were invited to attend the event as spectators free of charge.

As expected, it was an extremely heartwarming event that both the Nuggets and the participants will certainly remember for a very long time. Click on the image below to view the entire photo gallery, while you can also Click Here to watch a video clip from the CBS-4 about this very special event.
