Anthony Carter Challenges Records to Raise Funds
for the “I Have a Dream” Foundation®

DENVER, Dec. 16 – Anthony Carter, starting point guard for the Denver Nuggets, announced today that he will donate funds to the “I Have A Dream” Foundation® (IHAD) if certain team and personal records are broken this season.

Carter, now playing after a hand injury and six weeks of recuperation, is a beneficiary of an Atlanta “I Have A Dream” program. Said Carter, “There is no way to tell where I would be today if it had not been for “I Have A Dream,” but it probably wouldn’t be very good. IHAD was always there for me.”

Carter believes that with so much talent on the Nuggets’ team, he can help all of the players perform better from his position of point guard. “My job is to get the ball to my teammates to help them score more,” said Carter, “and, on defense, to take the ball away as much as possible.”

Carter has agreed to donate $5,000 for each of the following team and individual records that are broken in the 2007-08 season. The donated funds will be split among the Colorado “I Have A Dream” Foundation in Denver, “I Have A Dream” of Boulder County, and the national “I Have A Dream” Foundation.

The “I Have A Dream” Foundation (www.ihad.org) is a national network of local affiliate organizations that empower children in low-income communities to achieve higher education by providing them with tuition support and a long-term program of academic and social services. Local “I Have A Dream” programs sponsor an entire grade level of students and work with these “Dreamers” from an early age all the way through high school; upon high school graduation, each Dreamer receives guaranteed financial assistance for higher education. Currently the Foundation helps more than 4,000 Dreamers are on the pathway to college nationwide, following 10,000 Dreamers who came before them.
