Charity softball game on tap for Nuggets center JaVale McGee

Denver Nuggets center JaVale McGee, along with teammates Ty Lawson and Nate Robinson, will be swinging for the fences for a good cause this Sunday in Los Angeles.

As part of his fund-raising efforts to build water wells in Uganda, McGee is hosting the inaugural #JUGLIFE Charity Softball Game on the UCLA campus.

In addition to Lawson and Robinson, other NBA players scheduled to appear are Minnesota Timberwolves forward Kevin Love, Washington Wizards point guard John Wall and Los Angeles Lakers swingman Nick Young.

Also on the list is actress Sanaa Lathan, whose films have included Love & Basketball, Blade, Something New and Out of Time.

In addition to the game, the celebrities will be signing autographs and taking pictures with fans.

Proceeds from the softball game will go toward McGee’s project to help villages in Uganda. He is planning to travel to Africa next summer.

McGee, entering his fourth season with the Nuggets, began promoting #JUGLIFE as a healthy lifestyle built around the idea of drinking a gallon of water each day.
