Baker's dozen head to Las Vegas as part of Nuggets summer roster
A quick look at Denver's 13-man squad
After two days of workouts at Pepsi Center, the Nuggets are set to resume practice Friday in Las Vegas in preparation for their Samsung Summer League opener against the Toronto Raptors.
Sixteen players were on Denver’s original summer roster, but that has been pared to 13.
Here is a look at the baker’s dozen:
Quincy Miller – Third-year Nuggets forward who is looking for breakout in Vegas.
Gary Harris – The No. 19 overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft. Figures to play big minutes in Las Vegas as he learns the team’s offensive and defensive concepts.
Erick Green – A second-round pick in 2013, Green is just two weeks removed from playing the finals of the Italian League. He wants to show he can be a scorer and playmaker.
Jerrelle Bennimon – Forward out of Towson averaged 3.0 points and 4.7 rebounds in three games with the Miami Heat the Orlando Summer League.
Denzel Bowles – Big man out of James Madison averaged 7.2 points and 6.6 rebounds for the New Orleans Pelicans last summer.
Carlon Brown – Guard from Colorado enjoyed a strong season in Israel. Now looking to impress NBA scouts here at home.
Demonte Harper – Played with Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried at Morehead State. Attended training camp with Portland in 2012 but spent career overseas and in the D-League.
Halil Kanacevic – A 6-foot-8 forward who enjoyed an impressive two days at Denver’s summer mini camp. He is the only player in St. Joseph’s University history to record 1,000 points, 1,000 rebounds, 400 assists and 200 blocks in his career.
David Lighty – Making his third summer appearance in Las Vegas, the former Ohio State guard attended training camp with Atlanta in 2013, but has played overseas since 2011.
Errick McCollum – Played at Goshen College in Indiana and played in Greece last season, leading his team in scoring at 18.5 points per game.
Tim Ohlbrecht – Center out of Germany averaged 4.8 points and 4.0 rebounds with Detroit in the 2014 Orlando Summer League. Appeared in three games with the Houston Rockets during the 2012-13 season.
Will Thomas – Was a member of the George Mason team that reached the NCAA Final Four in 2006. Has spent the past six years playing overseas, most recently in Italy.
Chris Wright – Appeared in three games with the Dallas Mavericks in 2012-13. The former Georgetown guard has excelled in the D-League and overseas.
