RILEY WRAPS UP COACHING CAREER

Miami's Pat Riley, one of the NBA's legendary coaches, announced Friday, Oct. 24, that he will turn over the reins to lead assistant Stan Van Gundy.

"I believe we've turned the corner," said Riley, who will remain as the Heat's team president. "With the nucleus of guys we have now, I believe this is the right time for this change."

Riley is second in regular-season and playoff coaching victories, trailing Lenny Wilkens and Phil Jackson, respectively.
