During a 4-0 week for the Bobcats, Richardson averaged 28.5 points, 3.0 assists, 6.5 rebounds and 1.8 steals, leading the Bobcats to their first five-game winning streak in franchise history. In a 119-109 win over Golden State on March 5, Richardson tied a Bobcats franchise record with 42 points. Richardson tallied his 11th game of the season with 30 or more points, breaking the previous franchise record of 10 (Gerald Wallace), when he scored 34 points in a 100-97 win over Washington on March 8.
McGrady led the Rockets to a 3-0 week, averaging 32.3 points, 7.7 assists and 5.0 rebounds. McGrady recorded his fourth 40-point game this season after scoring 41 in a 106-96 win over the New Orleans Hornets on March 8 to lift the Rockets to their 18th consecutive win, the fourth-longest streak in league history. In a win over Dallas (113-98) on March 6, McGrady posted 31 points and nine rebounds, the most assists he has recorded in a 30-point game this season.
