Wade, Anthony Named NBA Players of the Week

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 12, 2007 – The Miami Heat’s Dwyane Wade and the Denver Nuggets’ Carmelo Anthony today were named the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, Feb. 5 through Sunday, Feb. 11.
Wade, who also won the award last week and for the week of Jan. 8-14, averaged 27.5 points, 8.8 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.75 steals in helping lead Miami to a 3-1 week. He recorded 27 points, 12 assists, five rebounds and three steals in a 113-93 win over Charlotte on Feb. 5 and registered 30 points, nine assists, six rebounds and three blocks in a 91-79 win over Boston on Feb. 7.
Anthony, who was named to his first NBA All-Star team by Commissioner David Stern last week, averaged 30.3 points along with 8.3 rebounds and 7.8 assists as Denver posted a 2-2 record on the week. He recorded his first career triple-double on Feb. 5 vs. Phoenix with 31 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, which tied a career high. Anthony also posted 29 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds and three steals in a Feb. 10 win at Milwaukee.
