NEW YORK, March 21 –
Detroit Pistons’ Chauncey Billups
and Golden State Warriors’ Jason Richardson
today were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, March 14 through Sunday, March 20.
Billups led his team to a perfect 4-0 week, defeating Atlanta, Seattle, Toronto and San Antonio. He averaged 25.5 points on .580 shooting and added 4.3 rebounds and 6.3 assists. In his game against the Seattle SuperSonics, Billups tied his season-high 32 points and made a career-high 15 free throws.
Richardson averaged 24 points per game with 10.3 rebounds and 4.7 assists in three games, helping the Warriors to a 3-1 week. The Warriors posted a road win over the Phoenix Suns and home and road wins over the Sacramento Kings. In the victory over the Kings on March 17, Richardson posted a game-high 40 points and 10 rebounds.

March 14 at Atlanta: Recorded 22 points, five rebounds, seven assists and one steal in a 114-108 overtime victory over the Hawks.
March 16 vs. Seattle: Scored a team-high 32 points with a career-high 15 free throws and added two rebounds and four assists in a 102-95 win over the SuperSonics.
March 18 vs. Toronto: Had 23 points with six rebounds, eight assists and one steal in a 103-92 win over the Raptors.
March 20 vs. San Antonio: Tallied 25 points, four rebounds, six assists and one steal in a 110-101 victory over the Spurs.
Jason Richardson, Golden State Warriors
March 14 vs. Houston: Tallied 13 points, 11 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in a 97-94 loss to the Rockets.
March 17 vs. Sacramento: Recorded a game-high 40 points on 16-of-28 shooting, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals and one block in a 100-97 win over the Kings.
March 18 at Phoenix: Scored 19 points and added 10 rebounds, one assist and one steal in a 110-100 road win over the Suns.
