NEW YORK, Dec. 13 –The New Jersey Nets’ Richard Jefferson and the Phoenix Suns’ Amare Stoudemire today were named the Eastern Conference and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for games played Monday, December 6 through Sunday, December 12.


Jefferson helped the Nets record their best week this season, going 3-1 against Toronto, Cleveland, New Orleans and Atlanta. He posted 24.5 points per game on 51.6% field goal shooting and 66.7% three-point shooting, while averaging 6.0 rebounds and 5.0 assists. Jefferson led the Nets in scoring in all four contests, posting 20 or more points in each game.

Stoudemire led the Suns to a perfect 3-0 record this week, averaging a league-high 30.7 points on 64.0% shooting, 12.0 rebounds and 3.3 assists in wins over Golden State, the Los Angeles Lakers and Charlotte. Stoudemire recorded three consecutive double-doubles for the first time this season and posted a season-high 15 rebounds and career-high eight assists in a 113-110 win over the Lakers at Staples Center.

Dec. 8 @ L.A. Lakers: Posted 23 points on 7-of-10 shooting, ten rebounds and two assists in a 113-110 win over the Lakers at Staples Center.
Dec. 10 vs. Charlotte: Had 36 points, a season-high 15 rebounds and a career-high eight assists in a 115-106 win over the Bobcats.
