Flamengo defeated the Ambassadors 95-92 to win the best-of-three quarterfinal series 2-1 and eliminate the Ambassadors from the South American Basketball League Championships.

Brazilian legend Oscar Schmidt was kept in check by the Ambassadors, but Josuel (28), Ratto (19), Robyn Davis (15) and Caio (13) all posted double-figure scoring totals giving Flamengo a balanced attack.

Curtis Haywood led the Ambassadors with 19 points and 12 rebounds while Reggie Geary (17), Donald Watts (16) and Ja Ja Richard (10) all scored in double-figures.

The Ambassadors got off to a strong start and led the game 24-16 after one, but Josuel's 14 points in the second stanza helped put Flamengo up 55-50 at the half. Flamengo carried a 77-71 lead into the fourth quarter, but the Ambassadors cut the lead down to one point (93-92) with nine seconds to go. Ratto then nailed to clutch free throws securing the victory for Flamengo, 95-92.
