Fratello Rumor Denied By Riley
In the PALM BEACH POST, Chris Perkins writes "Pat Riley, the president and coach of the Miami Heat, said Monday that the club's next coach ‘will come from within the organization.’ Riley, who said he has no timetable to resign as coach, spoke in response to a Sun-Sentinel commentary that suggested Memphis Grizzlies coach Mike Fratello could be in line for the Heat job. ‘I love Mike to death,’ Riley said. ‘He's been a good friend of mine for years and years and years and we talk a lot about it, but I just want to put it to rest that if in fact there's ever a change here with me making a decision, it will come from within the organization.’ ”
