Vaughn Has Successful Surgery

East Rutherford, NJ (April 5, 2005) – New Jersey Nets guard Jacque Vaughn underwent successful surgery this morning, Tuesday, April 5, 2005, to repair a fractured fifth metatarsal of the right foot, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. The surgery, performed by Dr. Paul Kovatis at Hackensack University Medical Center, included the insertion of a screw into Vaughn’s foot.

Vaughn will miss the remainder of the 2004-05 season, however, he is expected to be fully recovered by the start of next season’s training camp.

The 6-1 guard, in his first season with the Nets, played in a total of 71 games this season, averaging 5.3 ppg and 1.9 apg. In 34 starts, Vaughn averaged 7.9 ppg and 2.5 apg.

Over eight NBA seasons, Vaughn has played in 528 career games averaging 5.0 ppg and 2.7 apg.
