Nets Activate Billy Thomas

Place Ron Mercer on Injured List

East Rutherford, NJ (March 13, 2005) - The New Jersey Nets have activated guard Billy Thomas from the injured list, Nets President Rod Thorn announced today. In a related roster move the team placed guard Ron Mercer on the injured list with a lower back strain.

Thomas was placed on the injured list with a sore right Achilles on March 3, 2005, missing a total of five games. This season, Thomas has played in 17 games, averaging 5.4 ppg and 1.9 rpg in 19.4 mpg.

Mercer has played in 18 games this season, averaging 7.6 ppg and 2.2 rpg.
