Sympathy and Prayers
East Rutherford, NJ, Sept. 18 - The National Basketball Association's New Jersey Nets
today announced that revenues from walk-up ticket sales from their two home
preseason games will be donated to the families of the firefighters and
police officers who lost their lives in the line of duty this past week at
the World Trade Center tragedy. The announcement was made by Nets CEO Lou
Lamoriello.
"The recent events in New York City have touched everyone in the
metropolitan area, the country and the world," said Lamoriello. "The
proximity of these events to where we work and live has personally touched
the entire organization. The victims and their families will remain in our
hearts and prayers."
The Nets two home preseason games are set as follows: Tuesday, Oct. 9
vs. the Charlotte Hornets and Friday, Oct. 26 vs. the Detroit Pistons.
