Nets Roster Set, Deron Dishes on Ankle

Saturday, the Brooklyn Nets were up and at 'em for a full practice, now the middle day of three straight. Because of Hurricane Sandy, the team will practice tomorrow -- an all-out simulated scrimmage -- and then be off Monday. Coach Avery Johnson wanted to be clear this was an emergency-level weather exception to his steadfast "No Mondays Off" rule. Deron Williams, out after receiving an injection to alleviate the symptoms of his left ankle synovitis, was in attendance -- and good spirits -- already feeling much improved.
With yesterday's cut of James Mays and Carleton Scott, the roster stands at the league maximum of 15 ahead of Monday's final deadline. That move confirmed the long-expected additions of Andray Blatche and Josh Childress, whom Avery Johnson said deserved to make the team: "They've been consistent. They bring a necessary skill set to what we need on our team. Both of them have been doing a nice job of being a part of our second unit, whatever the minutes have been."
