Nets Headed to Chicago Combine
The NBA Draft Combine opened Wednesday, May 15 in Chicago and the Brooklyn Nets sent a contingent to the three-day event, which ran through Sunday, May 19. ESPNU and ESPN2 aired live coverage, with those segments simulcast via ESPN3.com.
Teams began conducting interviews Wednesday evening, with workouts and drills taking place Thursday and Friday morning. Interviews often take place in the afternoon and evening, with teams sometimes running back-to-back sessions from 2-9 p.m.
Since they enter with prepared research, teams often glean information from the players' responses and body language, along with garnering a sense of personality. The workouts provide measurements, as well as an opportunity to view a player in person – at close enough distance to see if their height matches up to the college listing! – and also whether any attributes (wingspan, fitness, response to instruction, etc.) stand out in the more personal setting.
Below is a list of participating players. Note that top prospects frequently limit their participation to interviews and measurements.
