Nets Back, as Avery Avoids an Off
The Brooklyn Nets were back at practice Monday, even though Coach Avery Johnson sought an off day, because he doesn't like extending a weekend mindset. Nine players – Andray Blatche, MarShon Brooks, Josh Childress, Stephen Dennis, James Mays, Carleton Scott, Toko Shengelia, Tyshawn Taylor and Mirza Teletovic – will attend an evening session for work on individual points of emphasis.
Tyshawn Taylor (strained right quad) and Keith Bogans (muscle soreness) sat out of practice. Kris Humphries was excused for personal reasons following the death of his grandfather. Deron Williams discussed adjusting to a preseason schedule light on games thus far, and also what helped frame his decision to re-sign with the Nets rather than the Dallas Mavericks.
